Dusty Woodield was born and grew up in Emmererf Scheidenveen in Emmen in Holland. My mother was a big Elvis fan and that's way I always heard his music and that's the reasan I started to sing and play on a guitar. My mate Bauke Arends teacht me to play the guitar. At the age of 20 I sang and played in a rock 'n roll band called Fred Cats and the Bobtails. After about a year we all decided to go our separate ways. I was able to find new members for the band and we continued for about a year. The time I spent playing in the band was very enjoyable and rewarding to me. After the band ended the second time I decided to go solo. After discovering the music of Slim Dusty I decided to sing and play country music. I started writing my own songs also.
My first song was called "My Life Style". I drew inspiration from Slim Dusty when I wrote it. My second song was called "Life Of the Past". My third song I wrote with the help of my loverly wife Hananja. She wrote the lyrics to "Take Me To My Baby" while I wrote the music to it. I gave my first performance at a country festival. It was a country line dancing festival. I sang at the Western Experiences Festival. This was another line dancing festival held in Holland to promote myself. The radio station NOF Friesland interviewed me about my music. They invited me back to introduce some of my songs. Also I won a country community in Belgium and was 1ste. It's my hobby but also a great passion for me.It gives me great pleasure to sing for people and I hope you enjoy my music. Because of Slim Dusty I started to sing country music. He is and will always be my biggest inspiration and always will be. When I play my music I always have Slim in my mind and that gives me a great pleasure that I have a feeling that he looks down at me and say's: "you doin' well, mate".
Thanx Slim for your great inspiration and your music.
